Canary or Belearic Islands in September?

My husband and I are looking to go to either one of the Canary Islands (Tenerife or Gran Canaria) or the Belearic Islands (Mallorca) at the end of September for 4 days. We are looking for great beaches and cultural aspects, but don't care about nightlife. A day of hiking would be nice, and some great views would be appreciated. Which of these islands would you recommend for what we are looking for?
