Future SL w Daniel's drinking, Sharon, and possibly Tessa?

Did anyone think that the writers were going somewhere with Daniel drinking a lot around Halloween?

I thought that either he was going to have a fling with Tessa or the alcohol was going to be a bigger SL, possibly w him doing something to Sharon.

ETA: Speaking of Tessa, who else thought that Ian intentionally drugged Tessa with the inhaler and that is why she was so empathetic sympathetic towards him? I think that there's still a SL there.
