Am I missing something with white noise?

I read the description of the song (on genius) by will wood and I interpreted it as being a song about finding beauty and art in the bland, for lack of a better word, white noise. Where I'm confused is I've seen people regard it as a sad song which never came across to me (lyrically, or musically) and the premise isn't one I would find sad. So, I guess my question is white noise supposed to be sad?

Edit: to clarify my interpretation, I don't think it's about will wood saying modern corporate art is good, but more so finding beauty in the generic, bland things in life (the low hum of led lights, the popcorn ceilings you see in apartments, the generic white walls, the way everything seems to be the same, that sorta stuff)
