Talking lyrics instead of singing

I know this is very vague so I’m probably not going to figure it out unless I just happen to hear it again, but I heard this song playing on the speakers as I was leaving work today… The main vocalist sounded male and I don’t know if this was throughout the whole song but for the portion I heard, he was talking instead of singing.

It was hard to hear the lyrics because it was playing so quietly and there were other sounds in the building but I heard something like “what is a funeral without flowers” or maybe “what is a funeral without any flowers” and “ten thousand something I didn’t hear reaching for the sky” (or maybe it was “reaching to the sky”) and then the “reaching for the sky” part was repeated but sung instead of spoken. If this sounds familiar to anyone I’d love to know what song it is so I can hear the rest of it.
