Get an older car with higher mileage or no?
Currently have a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder S Sport Utility 4D with 122,200 miles on it. 1 accident and the timing chain got replaced 10 months ago. That was a $3700 job. My display control unit keeps going on and off every 45 seconds. The backup cam still works though. Everything I’m researching says it’s a $1300-$3k fix.
Would I be better off trading the car in and getting something else? I would pay for a new vehicle with the trade in value of my pathfinder + cash. No financing.
Here are the current options if I trade:
2015 Chevy Tahoe Police 4x4 with 183k miles
2016 Chevy Tahoe LS 4WD with 184k miles
2012 Cadillac Escalade 4WD with 190k miles
Would it make sense to get an older vehicle with more miles on it than the car I currently have? I am wanting more room because I have kids.
