Are back end developers less "online" than front end developers?

I've been running webportfolios.dev, a site where developers can share their portfolios for inspiration, and I've noticed something interesting—backend developers seem to be the least represented.

Frontend devs? Tons of portfolios showcasing their work. Full-stack? Plenty. But backend-focused devs? It's like they barely exist in this space.

So, I'm curious—do backend developers just not care about personal branding as much? Is it because their work is harder to showcase visually? Or are they just more lowkey in general?

Would love to hear the thoughts from backend developers. Do you have a portfolio, or do you think it's unnecessary?
