From less than 3k daily steps to over 5k consistently (sometimes up to 8k)
The secret? Pokémon GO and walking after meals.
Pokémon GO has been a total game-changer for me. It’s super addicting with routes bonuses, fun event days, daily streaks, and I’ve always loved Pokémon. What’s wild is how much it motivates me to walk—even when I’m tired or it’s hot outside, I will do it for my Pokemon. During Community Day, I actually hit 20k steps! My step count skyrockets on days I play, and it’s made walking a fun adventure.
Walking with my partner after meals is super fun as we share thoughts, see our neighborhood, and just enjoy the fresh air. He reminds and encourages walking, which he does on his own and invites me every time I'm around. Plus, I heard on Huberman Lab that walking for just 10 minutes after a meal is as effective as walking for 30 minutes at other times when it comes to boosting metabolism.
These 2 things have changed my walking habits significantly and I totally recommend it. Anyone else find post-meal walks enjoyable? 😊
