JD Vance is visiting Warren VT next weekend, let’s welcome him!

UPDATE III: What a day! Hundreds of people between Sugarbush and Waitsfield really made a great protest. I hope everyone remembers that he is still planning to ski tomorrow, and should be reminded again how we all feel about him. And he should get a nice goodbye as well, when driving out of here Sunday.

I know people are planning stuff for Burlington and the overpasses along the route for Sunday, so don't feel like you missed your chance if you missed out on today!

UPDATE II: Vance has cancelled his plans to stay at the Pitcher Inn, due to "security concerns"...No information as to his alternative for lodging. Will update if and when I find out where he'll be.

Until then, it now seems that the protest will have to find another home.

I happen to know that VP Vance will be visiting Warren VT next weekend, staying at the Pitcher Inn right in the village. Skiing at Sugarbush. Don’t you think it would be fun to wave at him and say Hi?

UPDATE(s): so wow…7000 views and almost 500 comments! Pretty decent…

I spoke with the Town of Warren. There are no requests for road closures at this point, and the public space in town (sidewalks, the small Green/Gazebo area) is not being restricted in any way by the Town, but of course the Secret Service may very well close off a perimeter…

Vance will be staying at the Edgewater House, which is located at the corner of Main Street and Flat Iron Road (abutting the Green/Gazebo). Both Main Street and Flat Iron have sidewalks for pedestrians so protestors would be legally allowed to be on those sidewalks.

I would love it if we could set up a range of times to make sure there is always a presence in the village (except when he is out skiing).

They are arriving at some time on Friday and staying Friday and Saturday Night. Quiet time begins at 10:00 PM. So to me it makes the most sense to be loud and proud on Friday afternoon until 10:00 PM and then saturday morning (until he goes to Sugarbush) and then Saturday between early afternoon (after skiing) and until 10:00 pm.

Would be amazing to have people there for the entire time he is in Warren Village.
