Compensation for Wet Floors?

We flew from CUN > EWR (~3.5 hour flight) and noticed that the floors were soggy in front of our seats in the row directly behind the lavatory in E+. We notified the FA and they were great and put down some blankets to help with the situation. There were no seats to change to as this was a sold out flight. The FA later notified us that the water pipe had burst and that it was potable water soaking up the floors and would continue for the entire flight. They also notified over the PA that the sink in that lavatory would not function and they would include disinfectant wipes instead. One of the other lavatories was disabled for the flight at well. The FA put a request in for compensation and it came in after the flight for $100 per passenger in FCs.

What is appropriate compensation we should expect to receive from United? $100 seems incredibly low. We have no idea if it was only potable water, and there were clear bubbles/foam from some kind of disinfectant.

For reference, this flight segment was ~$700/each.
