Beautiful Send-off
I moved to a small beach town in South Africa 3 years ago. Almost nobody had heard of the game at the time, but after months of the odd pickup session we started having enough committed players that I didn’t need to be there for the game to go ahead. Ages from 9 to 55, and many players who had no clue in the beginning have become handlers, playmakers, fearless in the air or devilish on defence.
I got posted to a new job in a town a few hours away and for my last game today we had the most incredible turnout: a thirteen vs thirteen monstrosity in a light headwind.
After a game to 21 (no subs and about 70 minutes play time) they brought out the cake 😭
Is it just me or does this game select for especially good folks?
