Toy Story 7/27/95 Workprint ~ All Differences

I watched the July 1995 workprint and I made a note of all the differences between it and the final release. You can view it yourself in the link below.

Multiple scenes are either not finished completely rendering or have different musical score or sound design or lack thereof.

Some scenes are showcased in storyboard form but it's relatively few.

A different line reading from Sarge saying "sir, no sir"

After Slink says "Bad news!", there is two extra reaction shots from the toys, one featuring Mr. Potato Head, which is not present in the final cut.

A different line reading for Woody for letting Snake and Robot know they are up for podium duty

Bo Peep's first line is quite obviously not Annie Potts and they replace the final line of "flock" with "sheep".

Slink says "Hey Woody" and not "Hey Woody come on"

I believe it was Mike who cleared his throat letting Woody know he was there, and a few extra lines of Woody thanking Mike for stepping back.

Woody says the line "Oh yeah" in front of "you guys think this is a big joke", the former line not being present in the final film.

The reaction of Woody saying Andy's birthday was moved to today is different.

Woody's line "come on guys every Christmas and birthday we go through this" is obviously not Tom Hanks.

One of the kids (could be Andy) says "hey everybody come in here"

Hamm's line of "alright gangway gangway" is absent

Andy's Mom's line of "okay who's hungry, here come the chips. I got cool ranch and barbeque..." is absent

The chatter and dialogue of Andy and the kids going through and getting ready to open the presents is different, and Andy's Mom's dialogue is absent

Woody's gulp upon seeing Buzz Lightyear is absent

Buzz Lightyear's voice line when he pushes his button is different, as well as Bo Peep's "Wow" reaction that is not in the finished film.

Slightly different reaction to Buzz's wings from the rest of the toys

The line "you are clear to enter, welcome to Pizza planet" is gone and Buzz adds an extra "okay" to his line "now!" when Buzz and Woody enter Pizza Planet

Several scenes in Pizza Planet do not have background dialogue and some smaller lines from Woody and Buzz are not there.

Sid's line "Hello? How stupid" is not in the final film and the scene of him destroying one of the arcade machines is different and shown in storyboard form.

Sid's mom saying "Sid your pop tarts are ready" is scratch dialogue from a different actress.

You can hear Woody say "Awwww" when he dunks his head in the cereal and there are some extra frames of Buzz getting the plungers off his head.

The first bit of the commercial is briefly heard and it's a different announcer than the final film

The morse code from Sid's toy is a different sound effect

Woody's line "Okay, I think I know what to do. We're gonna have to break a few rules, but if it works it will help everybody" sounds like a mixture of scratch dialogue and Tom Hanks' line readings spliced together.

You can hear the duck toy ring the doorbell more times than in the final cut of the film.

Hannah has an off-screen line of "I'll get it" that is not heard in the final film.

Some extra bits of Woody's laugh after he knocks RC out of the moving van as well as different dialogue for the toys trying to get Woody after Potato Head says "get him!"

The road rage after Scud gets boxed in by the cars is absent.

Rocky's grunts as he pulls on the lever are absent, as well as the lack of sparks from the ramp coming in contact with the highway.

The toys saying "attaboy Slink" is different.

Molly has a different baby noise upon noticing the toys in the back of the moving van.

Woody has a different take of "rockets explode!" that sounds partly like Tom Hanks and partly like scratch dialogue and is cut off

A position of the cars on the road appears to be different.

Slinky says "look out" just before Rex says "take cover" and I believe this particular line of Slink's is not in the final movie.

Buzz's line of "this isn't flying, this is falling with style" is definitely not Tim Allen.

Interesting how much was either unfinished or completely different only four months before release.
