First 5 hours of tales of grace F

I don't know if I want to continue the game because I really hate asbel as a character, yes his a kid but he dosen't changed much when his an adult, this is the first time I played this game but some how I already know what his whole personality will be, his just a selfish self righteous brat, pls anyone here can give me a good reason to continue the game feels like I wasted my money on the game. everything bad happened in the childhood arc is his fault.
