Asking for ideas about the Zanglassword restoration

I bought this from an online store selling pre-loved Japanese toys. Any suggestions on what I can use to restore the gold accents on the red rotating part? I tried already the gold Gundam marker bur with unfortunate results. Thanks in advance!
