CVT Warranty Vs. Outside influence lo

I have a 2017 Subaru Impreza w/ 70,500 miles. Recently I had multiple dash board lights, at oil tempe temp, flashing cruise control, check engine light and others. The car had difficulty with acceleration up hill (really high RPM at low speed) I live an hour away from the closet dealership so decided to go to a Valvoline close by for a quick oil change and decided to flush the transmission fluid hoping it would help the driving issue.

After services at valvoline I still had the check engine light on so decided to just make an appointment at a Subaru dealership now that it felt safe driving on the highway.

Subaru ran a diagnostic the found “dtc p2751” they said I had low transmission fluid and recommend to replace the transmission fluid and see if that would correct the issues. After proceeding with the transmission fluid replacement. The car still had trouble driving, they state the wrong transmission fluid was used by valvoline, they drained the transmission fluid again and did a second flush, the car still had trouble driving and populating a “DTCS” and now recommend a total transmission replacement that won’t be covered by any manufacturer or CVT warranty due to outside influence.

I never purchased any additional warranty when I bought the car brand new. I’m not sure how they know valvoline used the wrong transmission fluid.

-Do I not have the right as a consumer/ owner to do preventative maintenance on my vehicle?

-Did a screw myself over and now have to pay out of pocket for a new transmission? Should I seek out an attorney?

Any suggestions or recommendations would greatly help
