Why do musicals just SUCK SO BAD? Why are they still made?

I have never seen a good musical or met a person who genuinely enjoys musicals in my entire life. The best I’ve gotten is indifference. I’m wondering who the fck the target audience is for movies like sing and Joker 2 since I haven’t met anyone who likes them and kids in particular who they’re usually made for seem to actively hate them lol

Edit: I should clarify I mean jukebox/ dedicated movie or tv show musicals, I have zero issue with live/theatrical performances
