SM wants us to walk food items to individual customers?
Recently our SM is having us physically go out into the cafe to give customers food if they order it, even if its super busy. Is this an initiative at anyone elses stores? its supposed to boost customer connection scores but its really.... impossible. Like, my manager will come up to us on warming and be like "did you remember to walk the item out and connect?" and we're like... no? MAYBE if its super early in the morning and theyre literally the only person in the building, but first of all: I am so backed up on the ovens that they need a laxative, and second of all: i have NO idea what john doe looks like. Literally, my manager asked me why i didnt walk an item out to a particular customer (we had like 8 poeple in the cafe) and i had to be like "i genuinely dont know who ordered this". It feels weird to just walk out into the cafe with a basket of food items like the easter bunny handing out pumpkin loaves and bacon goudas. If we were a small cafe, i'd understand, but we're one of the busiest stores in the district and always understaffed. I don't even mind connecting with customers, i love yapping and catching up with our regulars, but this just feels like a lot.
