Eq settings

I don’t know much about this kind of stuff so I’ll keep it brief. I use a pair of Bose over ear headphones. I listen to a little bit of everything but mostly rock and metal. I wasn’t a fan of how other genres sounded on the rock equalizer preset, so I’ve been using the Small Speakers preset (that setting won’t damage my headphones or ears will it?). Are there any EQ settings you think would sound better overall?
