Picking my GPU for VR iracing

Hey friends. I'm building a PC and getting back into sim racing. I'll probably be running straight VR to save space (and because it's awesome) I just leaned about this SPS setting that boosts Nvidia cards so I think I've changed my mind from going with the 7900xtx to now wanting the 4070 super to save a bit of coin and hopefully get the same or better performance In VR. I'm having a hard time finding specific benchmarks to prove this specific case point. Could anyone confirm or deny my hypothesis??

BTW yes I know the 4080 is better but it's also almost double the price in my area.
