Only side pins - any way to fix?

I'm only (mostly) getting side pins right now, which I hear is due to the fact that the sides have a better microclimate and that the surface is too dry

Would more misting at this point make a difference? It's still decently early on in the pinning stage, and I can see some pins closer towards the middle, just not like right in the middle
