What would you do? or advise?

Hi, these is a genuine thing a friend i know is faced with and wish for wisdom and good advice. he recently was told that he would be getting a full time offer that inVolved a closing role after working as a contractor ad supporting the various directors and doing well in the process. This would not be his 1st closing role but it is in a new industry and more in the b2c sphere. the CEO is a really good man and leader the kind you don't see much of these days in general (personal observation ofc). ihe was sent a job description and was asked to create a draft of his role and blend the job description he shared which was a closing role and an exciting role. he was also asked to collaborate with a Senior leader who is a trusted leader to the CEO and send the final draft to the CEO once its done. The challenge here is the same script a good SDR faces which is you are bound to be kept in that position because you guarantee consistency. The senior leader came back with inputs that essentially changed the entire role description and it was focused on a sdr role with glorified title(btw dont really care about title but just will not negotiate on his position to only jump into a full time job as a closing role independent of the company. he respects the company and the people and do not put any emotional lead decision and or action but rather being composed and thinking rationally. his observation seems to be that the CEO is more of a leader that gives a chance to talent whereas the senior leader is more pragmatic and does not invest in an unverified talent with a track record in the industry. he knows that he will not want to force his way through a closing role so he was thinking of just thanking him For his input and inform him that upon the material change in the role description he would ask to remain with the status quo and put the full time role on halt indefinitely for now. he is thinking with the CEO and thank him for the trust and will stay in a part time position with the business until he finds the right company that has a good comp structure for a closing role. he wishes to know if this approach is fair and if there is any advice you may give that you think may be better. he also wishes to retain a good relationship with the company and senior leadership team but will not compromise on his want of getting a full time closing role. Thank you for reading and for sharing genuine advise. he doesn't trust any person that sells him a future in a company that is not the present he is looking for (always within reason of course.)
