Episiotomy or elective C?

I have unfortunately been blessed with a short perineum (<2cm, probably even shorter), and could tear pretty badly in labour (FTM). My doctor said she will look at it in a couple of weeks and thinks that if it’s too small we might consider going for an elective. She has said I will most likely tear (whether it’s natural or she cuts) but I’m afraid it could be a bad tear considering there isn’t much room for the tear, so I also have the option of an episiotomy or going for an elective. Or should I chance it and just hope for the best?!

Anyone have thoughts, advice?
