Oman, got a job offer. Is this livable + savings?

Hi! I received a job offer from a company in Muscat, Oman. Offer is $1000 USD base salary + $500 USD living allowance with no accommodation but with project-based commissions.

Any thoughts from people who have experienced living/ working in Oman? I've checked websites detailing the living cost but I'm not sure how accurate they are. Any answer is greatly appreciated.
