Ten Part 2

We all love Pearl Jam for their diverse sounds and the fact that every album sounds completely different to the previous one. I love the way they explore new styles and aren't afraid to take big risks. I think Ten is a fantastic album but my favourite is probably No Code. The reason No Code is so impressive is, in a way, because of Ten - because it's such a huge departure from their debut sound and showcases their immense talents as musicians. Some people, however, pine for some kind of return to the Ten sound. They believe that Pearl Jam was at the best they'll ever be with songs like "Alive" and "Release." I don't agree with this view but I think it's interesting to imagine what their second album would have sounded like had they played it safe and produced something like a "Ten Part 2" (let's call it Eleven). Thankfully for fans who long for the "Ten sound," there are enough B sides and unreleased tracks from that era to put together a pretty decent Eleven. I included "Better Man" because it predates the band and thus could have been on the 2nd (or 1st) album. Eleven
