Autistic para- can it be done?

First- please forgive any outdated or incorrect language. I simply am not up to date on it.

I'm (29F) what they used to call "high functioning" on the spectrum. I can work a job, I'm married, and currently learning how to drive. (I passed the classroom portion of driving school the other day with a 100%! 🥳)

I do pretty well, and I want to work with these kids in sped. I think they call it an inclusion setting? I want to be in the gen ed classrooms assisting kids with IEPs.

Will they decide not to hire me once I disclose?

Can it be done? This is what I really want to do with my life.
