Oneplus 13 purchase experience India

I got my Oneplus 13 (12/256) yesterday and so far it's been amazing! The phone is FAST and OxygenOS is a breath (see what I did there) of fresh air compared to OneUI.

I want to talk about my purchase experience here in India (via Amazon) because I saw a lot of folks talking about how they had issues with Exchange via Cashify/Rabbit.

I traded in my old Galaxy S21 FE 5G for ~16k. The phone was in great condition with no external damage, although I had to change the battery twice due to bloating. The Galaxy was purchased in US in 2022 and I currently live in the Netherlands so I couldn't download the Rabbit Exchange app. However I was able to sideload it after a bit of searching on Google (don't use apptonic). As you'll see, the US IMEI of the phone was still accepted by the exchange program in India, but this wasn't possible to do in EU.

After receiving a call in the morning that my phone would be delivered in the evening, I backed up WhatsApp and my phone to my Google account. I don't keep much locally on my phone so this was quick. DO NOT FORGET TO BACKUP YOUR 2FA CODES. I have a samsung galaxy tablet so I pretty much had all my stuff logged in there as well which made this process easy for me.

When the delivery guy came, to inspect and exchange my S21, he asked me to open the Rabbit Exchange app and started the verification process. It took 5 min, and ran through the phone and checked if all the features worked correctly (battery, charging, cameras, speaker, mic, display, etc). Then he inspected the phone to ensure the body was free of damage and that the phone was intact and not bloating. The app didn't throw an error even though I had my battery replaced 2 times, and the latest battery was non-samsung. After seeing everything was good he handed me my Oneplus 13.

Overall for me, the experience was smooth and trouble free. Since I had a cloud backup and all my 2FA was already available on my Tablet, the setup of my new phone went super smoothly.

I bought the phone here, and not in Europe because I wasn't able to trade in my S21 FE for a good deal more than I would get in Europe. Many resell websites there wouldn't accept my old phone because it was a US variant and the IMEI wouldn't be accepted. So for me, it was a great deal to exchange my old phone for a great price and get the latest and greatest Oneplus!
