Does anyone find it harder and harder to keep finding new movies you're REALLY interested in?
I got really into movies two years ago. Since then I've been watching A LOT daily (got a lotta time) and it's been wonderful, but I feel like it gets harder and harder to find new movies I'm interested in and with diminishing returns. I haven't watched a movie in a week now, simply because I can't find anything that interest me. And when I do find something, the very best I could hope for is a 7/10. I've also rewatched all my favorites these past months.
I don't know if anyone can relate, but I don't enjoy every single movie, just because it's "good". I have favorite genres/tropes etc. that I can't get enough of, and lots of stuff that I have no interest in at all. For example I don't enjoy almost anything crime, basic human relationship dramas, and old movies, which significantly reduces my options pool. I do try to expand my taste every now and then, and I currently do have many "someday, when in the right mood" movies on my watchlist, but not anything that I really feel like watching right now.
I know many people feel like they don't have enough time for all the stuff they wanna watch. If you're one of them, you don't have to comment, but I am interested if anyone feels similarly and if there is anything that helped them. I do have about 20 or so 2025 movies I really look forward to, but I'm really worried that my everyday cinema journey is over...
