Do you chase girls that aren't initially attracted to you?

Recently I started to just not bother with girls that don't show signs of interest, both in person or through text (like taking a day or two to respond, or texting dry). Obviously some of these girls are actually really high quality (cute, hardworking, etc) and it sucks to give up on them, but I don't want to waste my own time or make them more annoyed, especially if we have mutuals and etc.

I'm wondering if anyone has had success gaining their attraction, and if so how?
