I love Metroidvanias but I find it difficult to like one. Can you suggest me anything?

You probably won't like me but here it goes: Hollow Knight, Ori, Dead Cells, Axiom Verge, Salt and Sanctuary, Death's Gambit, Touhou Luna Nights, Moonscars and many more say nothing to me. Hated Monster Boy and I regret losing time to get on to 75% of the game before dropping it.

2024 was a great gaming year for me and I want this to be at least half as good. So far this year I tried Metroid Dread and found it meh, only finished it because as a game from a big company its pros/qualities are really good and polished. Then went to Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, one of the few Castlevania-Metroidvanias I didn't play. I've enjoyed it, even as a 25-almost years old game it's fun and a proper Metroidvania experience. Now I'm playing The Last Faith, killed a couple of bosses and I'm struggling to continue, different areas but all feel the same without any character, forgettable. I got discouraged. Thinking of trying Ender Lillies but I'm pretty sure it's not for me, so my hope lies on The Messenger. I also want to try Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Timespinner and Indivisible.

Indie Metroidvanias don't do it for me, their ratios are too off, they don't make sense TO ME. Monotonous areas, generic art design, too much texting and blah-blah to cover other qualities because of the budget (or lack of talent maybe I don't know), meh music and art design, unnecessarily complicated mechanisms/abilities that can't support the game. The similar shiny art design of games like Hollow Knight, Ender Lillies and Ghost Song is not for me either, nor collecting stuff like coins from dropped enemies all the time. I also hate repetitiveness.

I love most Castlevania games and I really like most of the Metroid games I've played. My list of top 5 games ever includes SotN and Blasphemous, I love them. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is very good too, a worthy Metroidvania. Played Grime and The Mobius Machine, really liked them at first but when they turned into "Here's 25.000 ways/paths/labyrinths to choose from because we think that's how a Metroidvania should be, even if our other qualities can't even support this." I stopped playing them. They had such a nice smooth gameplay and physics but I just couldn't continue.

Metroidvania games are one of my favorite genres (if not my favorite) but among all these copy-paste uninteresting ocean of indies it's hard to find something good FOR ME to play. I know I'm difficult but suggest me anything and I will check it out. No hate, to each their own. Thanks in advance!
