Question about EN-31 Steel

Hello, I am looking at buying a sword, and the steel they claim the blade is made of is EN-31 carbon steel, I know generally that high carbon steel is what you want in a sword blade, you want it strong and resilient, but not to hard/brittle to snap or break. Is anyone here familiar with this grade of steel and would it be a suitable material for a long blade? Thanks!
