Never ending illness

So a week and a half ago. I got sick with a sore throat, cough and sinus drainage. Then 2 days later my toddler threw up in the middle of the night. Since then, she threw up once again 2 days later and then again tonight like 4 days later. I went to the doctor after feeling crumby and they gave me steroids but nothing more and then 2 days later I was vomitting and shitting my brains out (that was 5 days ago) so I don’t understand what the heck kind of illness we have going on. Has anyone else experienced this or know what it could be? Vomitting days apart a long with having cough and sore throat symptoms.
