Is there any way where playing an Ardat-Yakshi woulnd't be extremely problematic?

Recently I'm got the oppotunity to play as an Asari in a campaign and I thought abt going the Ardat-Yakshi route, The thing is, my DM and I both can't think of a way to do this without severely hindering the story progression or without breaking a hard line in RP, which is concerning, to say the least without getting into the specifics.

Tracing a parallel with vanilla D&D, evil characters are usually a no-go (for heroic campaigns), so neutral is as far as I'd go, but even then there's still the compulsion part and, unlike vampires, Ardat Yakshi essentially mate with the person and likely kill them, instead of just a little nibble on the neck.

Of course there's the Chaste route, which is totally fine for RP-sake, but mechanically I'd be missing out on the main point of the variant, Acceptance is a middle ground that offers no advantage, leaving Embrace and Growing Power as the options that would arguably be worth taking a big flaw in exchange of some interesting mechanics.

The issue is those mechanics essentially force the character into a path of self-destruction or becoming a, you know, which is kinda the point, of course, but roleplay wise, where real people have lines and veils, I really can't think of a scenario in which that would be ok.

I appreciate any feedback, opinions or experiences you guys share!
