Some advice that a lot people apparently need to hear - you don’t have to blame anyone when you lose.
I see a lot of Rivals players use this tactic to protect their egos. It goes like this:
Step 1. Lose game
Step 2. Check scoreboard to identify scapegoat (whoever has least kills. If no one stands out, pick one of your strategists at random.)
Step 3. Say in all chat that the scapegoat was the reason you lost.
I know this seems like a great way to remind the lobby of what a powerful gamer you are, and that without this sickening slime on your team, you would have obviously prevailed and begun your ascent out of bronze 3.
In reality, this only lowers everyone in the lobby’s opinion of you. Your team may have liked playing with you, the enemy may have respected you, but all of that is gone the moment you do this.
What should you do instead? Blame yourself. Keep that mindset that you’re God’s gift to gaming and run with it. Consider yourself the carry, and if you lose, blame yourself for not carrying harder.
This is how good players improve. Be critical of yourself and patient with others. Your games will improve if you follow this advice, I promise. Thanks for reading!
