How do you feel about pacifist anime characters and what characters in this category would you say was executed well?

Been reading a manga with the main character becoming a pacifist, I don't wanna mention to avoid spoilers but I kinda have mixed feelings about it. Recently picked up Trigun too and the MC is like that and I haven't been able to get committed to it. So I would like to know how the community feels about them
