Suit Tailoring

Hello, I’m getting a complete suit but my body is a bit weird. I’m 5’7, 160 lbs and have an athletic build. My jacket size is 42S but my waist is 32. The suit I’m looking at only comes in 36 waist because of the 42S jacket. I’m planning on tailoring my jacket and pants but the issue is decreasing that much will it make the pants fit weird around the thigh and crotch area. Am I just better off buying the suit separately and not together?
