What do people do when they are sore?

Hi I’m 23, F, 265lb and new to the gym trying to lose weight. I only started going to the gym 3 days ago. On the first day, I walked for 1 hour on the treadmill and that was it (I really had no idea what else to do or what to use so I spent a lot of that hour watching other people and seeing what equipment seemed to get the most love, etc.). The second day, I walked for an hour, and I did a few exercises with “decent sized” dumbbells. I had plans after the gym so I went home and showered, then headed to my plans, which included a lot of driving. I discovered once I got out of the car (maybe 2 hours after the workout) just how sore my legs were.. Omg. But I really NEED and want to be consistent, and I know the body will try to get used to to the movement and stuff, but I’m like omg how can I possibly go work out with my legs feeling like this? So day 3, I did aqua aerobics (I was the only person under the age of 55 in the whole pool 🤣) because I wanted to be sure I did some type of exercise for the day. But to be be real I barely felt like I was exercising. So that brings me to my question, what do people do when they are too sore but don’t want to miss a day?? Today would be day 4.
