Help! Going to get a professional haircut for the first time in 15 years and I have no ideas what shape to do!

My hair was at the red line a few weeks ago but I cut those ends bc they were horribly scraggly. Now maybe the bottom 3 inches is a bit thinner than the rest, and I wanna finally get my hair cut professionally! I know a lot of people get the u and the v shapes. I really love how the v shape looks, but is my hair too thin for it? I don’t think it’s thick enough for layers. I definitely don’t want straight across bc I’ve had that type of cut my entire life, and I want something new! Maybe u would be more suitable to V? Please help id love input!
