[Online][5e][Roll20][PST][AEST] Two Players Wanted For Homebrew Campaign Saturday Nights
This is a homebrew campaign run in a custom setting created by me, the DM. We run at 9PM PST (8PM PDT or 2PM AEST) every Saturday (Or Sunday in Australia). We run through Discord for voice and Roll20 for the game itself.
We're looking for 2 players to fill out the ranks for this game. We need people who put having fun as their highest priority when playing a D&D game, and are willing to share the spotlight with the other players as a team. We would appreciate it if you are also accepting as a person, as we have a somewhat diverse cast of already confirmed players, and we would like to avoid as much conflict as possible. New players are also welcome and encouraged.
The current players range in ages from 17-24. We do banter and may curse a bit. Gore may be thematically explained at times though not by any means excessive. We just want you all to have fun and enjoy the game.
About the DM:My name is Luke (But everyone calls me Sky) and I've been a Dungeon Master for the past 3 years in both Homebrew and Module-based adventures. I've run everything from Lost Mines of Phandelver, to Curse of Strahd, to a campaign set in the Tal'Dorei Setting (Critical Role). I tend to put emphasis on Role Play for my games, though there is a good mix on combat in there for good measure. I've also DMed for many different types of players, from the fast-witted to the min-maxxer. I have quite a bit of experience but still have plenty to learn.
About the Story:The Land of Rowelia is currently going through change. The Royal family has been not much more than a joke for the past 2 generations, and nobles have become little more than landowners who charge taxes on those who pass through. With the lack of order the country has been in disarray for a long time with Bandits and monsters running wild. This lead to the rise of the Merchant Guilds, organizations that band together to protect each other and profit. Now, after a few years of their existence they have began to take over as the true rulers of Rowelia.
About Character Creation:When creating a character, anything officially published by Wizards of the Coast is allowed. Unearthed Arcana may be allowed in certain situations, and anything published by Matthew Mercer (DMs Guild or the Tal'Dorei Campaign Guide) is allowed. For example, you could potentially play a Gunslinger if you put it in your application. Anything outside these restrictions must absolutely be run by me, the DM, prior to use. The game starts at 2nd level.Starting Prompt:You may come from a variety of backgrounds. Perhaps you have come to Rowelia in search of adventure, or maybe you’re a noble who wishes to make a name for themselves in this new world. Whatever your walk of life, you’ve found yourself with a job with a small Guild in Esmeralda. The task is simple; a cart of ore was requested from a mine somewhere along the Iron Road. For some reason, it never arrived. You have been hired to go and find where the cart has gone, starting at the mine itself.
If you are interested in the game, please respond to this post with something similar to this template:
Player Info:Your first name (or preferred nickname):Age:Current time zone:A little bit about yourself (A single sentence or two will do):What's your play style and experience with D&D, and Roll20 as a whole?:
Character Concept (This is more of an idea, details can be worked out once you are accepted/ as we go):Character Name:Race:Alignment:Class:Background (Nothing extensive):
Edit: Some additional information I forgot to include:
I'll have anyone who was accepted to this game notified by Wednesday. Please hold out until then.
When it comes to stats, we roll for them but with certain safeguards to ensure everyone is inline and not incredibly weak.
You roll 4d6 and drop the lowest die six times. If the total does not equal above a 70 you reroll all the stats until you get a total of 71 or higher. If you still aren't satisfied with your stats, you get 1 free reroll but you have to use the new stats as long as they equal above 70. We find this way a fun way to diversify characters and make things more interesting without anyone being too weak.
Thank you for your time and hope to see you soon!
