Wildlife overnight stays in india on a budget

Hiya

Myself and my partner are travelling through India for the next 4 months. We have planned parts of our trip but some are open.

We are looking for a place where we can stay for a few nights or longer either in a national park or close by where we can feel immersed in nature and also access affordable safari or walking safari options - any reccomendations?

I would also appreciate general reccomendations for national parks that are less crowded (our previous experiences with things like this have been a driver driving madly to see an animal along with 30 other vehicles...). If this means less chance of seeing elephants/tigers etc that is fine :)
