US Visa Refused under 221g. Am I automatically in Administrative Processing?
We had our immigrant Visa interview in Montreal last December 2023. Unfortunately we got the visa refused under 221g with instructions to submit the correct format of Police Clearance along with our passport within 1 yr.
We submitted the documents that were requested as soon as we got the Police Clearance on the first week of Feb. Are we automatically considered in Administrative Processing when refused under 221g? The online status at CEAC shows Refused and that the case was last updated 27-Feb-2024. However we have received no updates yet.
Also has this on the status page:
A U.S. consular officer has adjudicated and refused your visa application. Please follow any instructions provided by the consular officer. If you were informed by the consular officer that your case was refused for administrative processing, your case will remain refused while undergoing such processing. You will receive another adjudication once such processing is complete. Please be advised that the processing time varies and that you will be contacted if additional information is needed. For more information, please visit or the website for the Embassy or Consulate at which you made your visa application.

For those that had refusals under 221g how long did it take before you finally got your visa approved?
Thanks!
Update: Visa status changed from "refused" to "Issued" on March 13th and passport received March 14th
