Chain of Fools- Little Caesar (1990)
Cover songs.
Always a debate in the music business. Do they belong on an album full of original material? Is it even worse when your favourite band released a whole album of covers???
We had a few good ones in the genre. We had A LOT of terrible ones.
Today’s “song of the day” is a cover of a classic by “The Queen of Soul” herself! Sacrilege!!!
Little Caesar was formed in Los Angeles, California 1987 but didn’t release their self-titled debut album until 1990.
The album had some decent songs on it but the band’s “biker” image failed to catch on in the MTV era.
After releasing a second album in 1992 which failed to catch any steam the band disbanded.
I owned the first release but it quickly found it’s way into my rarely played section.
This song remains a staple on my 80’s metal playlist though and is IMO one of the best covers of the genre.
This is “Chain of Fools!”
Interesting fact: Lead vocalist Ron Young appeared in Terminator 2: Judgement Day as a biker who gets thrown through the window of a bar by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
