The Power of Agony and a Fake Auction - #1
TLDR; Phone Dude is the one behind Fazbear Entertainment LLC, and he bought the items from his own auction, leading to the agony-infested mess that is the Tangle beneath the Pizzaplex.
I'll cut straight to the chase - I'm here to solve the timeline of "new" FNAF. This is Part 1 of that.
This is gonna be...a task, that's for sure. The reason most other people have focused on the timeline of old FNAF (1-UCN) is that these games are all at least 6 years old. We've gotten plenty of information on them since that time, meaning that most of the details (aside from things like who died first and the origins of Fazbear) have been solved already. That is not the case for new FNAF (HW on). That story is still being developed, but there are enough puzzle pieces laid out for us to at least start piecing together what the heck is going on here, and make some educated guesses on where the story is heading next.
So, without further ado, let's get started with one of the most important pieces of new FNAF, at least in my opinion; the revival of Fazbear Entertainment.
Chapter 1 - Fazbear Entertainment Lives On
Let's start by doing this from the company's perspective; after the events of Pizzeria Simulator, Henry declared the company null and void, as shown by HandUnit's final talk to the player after the infamous speech. ("There is no reason to return to work next week, as Fazbear Entertainment is no longer a corporate entity.") However, that's not really how that stuff works, especially in this case.
Many assume that since William is (to everyone else) dead, Henry has sole control of the company, since he'd be one of the only shareholders left in the company. (I mean, they have a point. Who else would invest in a company that has a history of child murder?) However, Fazbear Entertainment Inc. is, well, an incorporated business. It's a corporation. Even if Henry has most of, if not all, of the shares within the company, he still has to consult whatever board of directors still remains. Now, of course, video game logic applies, so there could just be no board of directors (or Henry is the sole director now), but there's definitely a loophole to be found here. Henry could've shut down the company, but there always could be someone who wants the company to live on.
Who wants these characters to live on.
Wait a minute. Wait a fuckin' minute. Call me crazy, but I think I just hit the gold mine.
Let's think all the way back to the FNAF 1 newspapers, and the quote I just referenced from the anonymous Fazbear CEO at the time - "These characters will live on. In the hearts of kids, these characters will live on." This has to be important in some way. Almost like it's telling us that someone who was a kid during this era would be the one to revive these characters way off in the future.
But...who? A speculation is just that - a speculation - without proof. Who would be insane enough to revive these characters into the modern day? Who would be crazy enough to keep a hold in a company that's well known for child murder and killer robots?
The answer is simple. Someone who did it before.
Chapter 2 - The One Thing Henry Didn't Account For
Before I continue, I should note that I've never read Gumdrop Angel, so the story What We Found could contradict what I'm about to propose here. If that is the case, please let me know in the comments so I can revise the theory. Capiche? Alright, let's keep going.
Something me and a lot of people have noticed about new FNAF is its constant re-iteration of the idea of history repeating itself. Freddy and the band are revived just like they were back in FNAF 3. Ruin is very similar to The Twisted Ones. Many references or direct recreations are made of the Afton family. We've literally had two games very close together called "Help Wanted". That point has to mean something...and I think I've figured out what.
Henry's plan was genius, but it left out a few tiny variables nobody human could've accounted for that ended up having a domino effect into the future. Cassidy's soul wasn't given closure. The Mimic was absent from the fire. Agony was never accounted for.
Michael was the only human related to Fazbear Entertainment aside from Henry himself in the fire.
Going off on a small but important tangent, I recently ran into Auction Theory when I was watching HyperDroid's recent video about every piece of FNAF lore; the idea that Michael bought the agony-infested items from the FNAF 3 auction, which caused the FNAF 4 nightmares. I don't personally believe the theory to be true, but it did bring my attention to something; the auction. A very important piece of old FNAF that was just kinda...forgotten about. Why is the auction so important?
Because we see the items from the auction in the Pizzaplex. Pieces of the Classic animatronics. Various parts of the scrapped Toys. All things we see ON THE BLOB.
You could eliminate that part of the theory by saying, "Oh, but Mistake, the pieces on The Blob were from FNAF AR! It's the pieces of the AR animatronics, you idiot!" Well, as time goes on, I'm beginning to heavily doubt AR's canonicity. And even if it is canon, think about this; you ever seen burnt husks in FNAF AR?
In the lobby of the Pizzaplex, several old parts of the Classics are shown on display, including the aforementioned Foxy husk...which is BURNT. It had to have been in a fire, and the only fire it could've been in up until this point is the FNAF 3 one. On top of that, I think it's widely accepted at this point that The Blob is made up of pure agony. Some of that agony comes from the FNAF 6 victims, yes, but it could also easily come from the agony pile that is FNAF 3. That is the FNAF 3 auction.
Okay, now I hear you saying, "But why does any of this matter? So what if the CEO of Fazbear LLC bought items from the FNAF 3 auction? We still don't know who could've! Who that guy even is! Idiot!"
On the contrary. We know exactly who bought items from the FNAF 3 auction, because the purchaser of the auction items...is the exact same man who set up the auction. Ladies and gentlemen, the culprit for ALL of the events of new FNAF, and the man behind Fazbear Entertainment LLC, is...
Chapter 3 - The Phone Dude
Think about it. Everyone else we've met from old FNAF who could've possibly be interested in reviving Fazbear, we've seen die. Phone Guy? Dead in 1993. Michael Afton? Burnt alive in the FNAF 6 fire. Same with Henry. Jeremy Fitzgerald? Well, okay, apparently he's still alive, but cmon. I doubt he'd be interested in reviving or have the mental capacity to revive the company that bit his frontal lobe off.
Phone Dude, though? He just disappears. After Night 2 of FNAF 3, we never see or hear from him again. But Phone Dude doesn't seem like the type who would give up that easily after his attraction burned down. He spent weeks, potentially years searching for a working animatronic to operate Fazbear's Frights. He seemingly ran the whole operation there, since he's the one reporting to us the works of the technicians who found the old stuff, who he refers to as "we", by the way. But perhaps more importantly, he's young. He uses slang for the time. He fantasizes about Fazbear's horrific past like the days gone by. He uses the word "legit". He's the perfect age for the previous point I mentioned about the Fazbear CEO saying it would be up to the kids to see these characters live on. Something I believe Phone Dude took to heart.
And if you STILL don't believe me, even after all of that damning evidence, I have two more major points to bring up. For Point #1, it's always irked me that Fazbear Entertainment just suddenly gained the rights to Fazbear's Frights. After all, we know from various sources inside and outside the game that the people running the show there were NOT part of Fazbear Entertainment. But by the time of Help Wanted, they're throwing Springtrap (and Phone Dude) in there and propping them up like urban legends like it's some kind of joke. How would they even get the rights to use the voice of a guy that's apparently gone missing?
Well, if the missing person is running the show, they don't have to.
And Point #2, take a look at the tactics Fazbear Entertainment uses to retrieve stuff for the Pizzaplex. They go down into the FNAF 6 location's ruins, take stuff from it, and build a mall right on top of it. They use items from FNAF 3 and Sister Location that they only could've gotten if they went to the locations themselves. If they sent people out to retrieve the goods, just like Phone Dude and his team did back in FNAF 3.
Phone Dude is the perfect villain for this new era. He's got a story of enough tragedy that his motives and movements make sense. This theme of history repeating itself makes sense, because that's exactly what Phone Dude is; Phone Guy repeating himself. And his plan is so perfectly crafted, that no one would ever suspect him to be the culprit unless they knew the clues. He went so off the radar that Henry completely forgot he existed. Something he must've known since...well, he knew what went down at Fazbear's Frights. And that is what makes him the perfect showrunner for Fazbear Entertainment, LLC.
Aaaaand that's all for me. My fingies hurt, and the next big thing in the story of new FNAF is the rise of Glitchtrap, which is a whole other can of worms. If you've made it this far, thanks for taking my two cents into account, and spread the word, because I feel like I've made a breakthrough that nobody else seems to have discussed. See ya!
