EA App won't open; apparently deleted from my PC

Can someone help me here, please? *puppy eyes

So, I was able to play NFS Rivals via Steam (had to install the EA app) till a day ago. And honestly, I can't play the game anymore! So here's what I did:

 -x-x-x-

Step 1: Launch the game via Steam

  • In this case, the following error dialogue box pops up: "link2ea://launchgame/1262600?platform=steam&theme=nfsr Application not found".

  • After this an EA app dialogue box is shown: "Failed to start process for this game: "The operation was canceled by the user." (0x4C7)"

Step 2: Launch the EA App

  • Because I could not find the "EA" app via the Start menu, I went to this location: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop" and click on "App Recovery".

  • After clicking on "App Recovery", I see a dialogue box with the following message: "The item 'EALauncher.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly. Do you want to delete this shortcut?" I click on "No".

  • Furthermore, I cannot find the "EALauncher.exe." file anywhere in this folder either.

Step 3: Uninstall EA App

Cause the above 2 steps did not work I thought I could try reinstalling the EA app. So I head to "Add or Remove programs" to uninstall and this is what it says:

"Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop\EAUninstall.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."

This is where I give up 😭

Some more info:

  1. I have an up to date anti-virus software

  2. I have done NOTHING to delete the EAUninstall.exe file from C drive (after checking this folder, I legit do not see this .exe file).

~NOTE~: I deleted the EA app shortcut from the desktop screen and I was still able to launch the EA app, but this issue has suddenly cropped up.
