Laptop configuration to learn deep learning
I am a data Engineer who is planning to dip his hand in LLM and Deeplearning. I want to understand if given configuration ( for my main work laptop ) will be enough to just run inference and RAG for a smaller modes just in learning phase and try out deep learning libraries.
I will be using these just for starter and use Cloud for any training if required. I understand 8 GB is not great for LLM's and planning to buy a machine with larger GPU later this year.
Any downside to this setup ?
Setup:
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB
- Intel Core i9-13900HX (24 Kerne | 32 Threads | Max. 5,4 GHz | 36 MB Cache | 55 W TDP)
- 64 GB (2x 32GB) DDR5 5600MHz Corsair
- 2 TB Samsung 990 PRO (NVMe PCIe 4.0)
