Should I protect container garlic during rainy season?

I'm new to container gardening and am starting with garlic. I've watched a lot of YouTube videos. One thing that is clear is garlic doesn't like to be soggy. I'm in zone 8a in NW Georgia, USA. In December especially we can get a lot of rain for days on end. Will mulch be enough to protect the garlic from a lot of rain or do I need to think about moving my containers during times when it rains a lot?
