I feel like this deserves to be read outside of the “what do you do for a living” thread

I’m 24 and a direct support professional I take care of people with disabilities. I live with my boyfriend who works in a factory. We both make decent money. I couldn’t imagine not having a job. A real job, that pays consistent every two weeks. I couldn’t pay my bills. My boyfriend broke his foot last summer and he was only getting half a paycheck from short term disability and we were struggling but we still made it through. I couldn’t imagine not paying my rent on time because I wasn’t on Tik tok live all day long begging for money. It sucks that we are all out here working our asses off for a real job when people our age or younger are making way more money than us. I know, I could always go do the same thing as them but I couldn’t imagine if that’s how my life was. It’s all fun and games until it doesn’t work out in your favor and you can’t pay your bills and are about to be evicted. I just can’t fathom the idea behind that. I understand that some people just don’t want to work but some people HAVE to work to survive. And when she talks down on the people that watch her, her “fans” or even just people like us trying to expose her bad behavior, or shitty personality, the things she says that’s just not right (she should not be an influencer) when we are actually out here doing the things that she will eventually need one day. When she decides to have kids and with literally every thing on social media I could just imagine the people calling CPS on her whether she needs it or just out of spite from every other shitty thing she has done. She will need a social worker to side with her. Whether it’s a fast food worker, a nurse, a paramedic, a soldier, a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, a retail associate, a vet, a dentist, a dog trainer, no matter what your job is she will need us. She should appreciate the people that are out here doing what she won’t do so that when the time comes when she needs us she can appreciate the help more. You would think that she would appreciate it especially having a dad in the military and a mom as a teacher but she degrades them simply because she is a shitty human that only cares about herself. I wish she would wake up. Life after 21 gets really scary. People will not wait on her just because she’s social media famous. Life comes at you hard and she needs to be ready. Be better Christen Whitman.
