Let’s Keep It Constructive
Hi everyone,
The recent IRCC announcement about removing 50 LMIA points has stirred up frustration, and I’ve noticed it’s also reignited the ongoing debate about foreign work experience points. Often, this argument starts when someone without foreign experience feels disadvantaged in the competitive pool. But let’s be clear—that isn’t the fault of those with genuine foreign work experience.
The system is designed to reward a mix of skills, experiences, and qualifications. Blaming certain groups or advocating to remove their points doesn’t make the process fairer—it just shifts the competition in another direction.
Rather than arguing or downvoting each other’s perspectives, let’s focus on what this community does best: sharing advice, strategies, and support. IRCC’s policies will continue to evolve, and helping each other adapt is far more productive than trying to divide the pool.
We’re all here to achieve the same goal. Let’s work together and keep discussions constructive and respectful.
Best of luck to everyone!
