Thinking about upgrading my GPU

Im thinking about upgrading gpu from a Nividia GTX 1060-6Gb to a MSI RTX 4070 12GB.

Im running an i7-9700K with my motherboard being a Rog strix Z390-f.

Im scared for two reasons, first i cant seem to find info if it would be compatible. Secondly if you had to geuss what power supply would i have to look in inserting. And lastly is this a good plan or am i being stupid. I plan on playing like this for the next couple of years and then upgrade to a big boi pc.
