Possible Amazon crackdown?
As I'm sure a lot of you do, I try to partially fund upgrades by selling old discs on Amazon. I just got an email notification that the DVD of Body Double had to be removed promptly from my inventory or I could face penalties up to and including deletion of my account and freezing any untransferred funds*.
According to the email, "This product has been identified as one that is prohibited for sale or violates image guidelines. We prohibit any sexual or offensive adult product or any listing(s) that may include explicit sexual imagery."
I'm hoping this is just an idiotic error- Amazon itself currently lists Body Double in every conceivable format, including VHS, with Marketplace seller offers for every one of them except laserdisc- but I'm curious if anyone else has received notices like this for previously permitted titles. With Free Speech Coalition v Paxton at SCOTUS and other tech companies pre-emptively bending the knee to the incoming administration, I'm wondering if this might signal a new, restrictive policy change.
*reminder: never leave any untransferred funds in seller accounts, Paypal, etc, because you have basically no legal recourse to reclaim your money
