June 6th 1944, D-Day
We've played a couple d-day games in the past but this has been the largest.
Two players controlled the Germans while another two controlled the US Airborne attacking from the rear while the US Army stormed the beaches. The Germans controlled fifteen units 4 of which counted as the pill boxes (large middle pillbox counted as two). The Americans controlled 19 units.
For home rules we considered pill boxes destroyed once a squad of American troops placed at least models in contact with the bunker. Engineers carrying Bangalores had to attack sections of barbed wire at the sea wall with a 4+.
The first half of the game Germany really took the lead laying down a heavy amount of fire down on the beach while simultaneously bottling up the Airborne troops. Ultimately however the Americans eked out the win. Destroying two of the three pillboxs as well as routing quite a few defending German units.
