Bryan's Weight Gain 15 lbs (6.8 kg)
Hi everyone, Bryan Johnson mentioned here that he gained 15 lbs (6.8 kg) in weight. Do we know how he gained weight while following the Blueprint diet? I'm curious about it because Blueprint is structured around longevity and recommends a caloric restriction, it may be difficult to gain weight from eating more quantities of Super Veggie alone.
I assume Bryan Johnson maintained the Blueprint diet while targeting a caloric surplus to gain weight. Would love to hear anyone else's thoughts about this subject.
Foods/strategies helpful in gaining weight (in a more or less healthy manner) that I saw mentioned in this sub include:
- Increased protein intake for gaining muscle mass (meat, Greek yoghurt)
- Increased carbs (sweet potatoes / buckwheat / quinoa)
- Oats
- Berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
- Seeds (pumpkin seeds, etc.)
- Nuts (almonds, etc.)
- Avocados
- Eggs
- Increased 100% dark chocolate
- Additional EVOO (extra virgin olive oil)
